Template for the Application
We highly recommend that users become familiar with the content and layout of the Portal application. Please contact your research office or MSI for a log-in to the portal.
As a general guide, the Natural Hazards Research Platform application asks for the following:
1. Identify which portfolio you are applying to – NZ Natural Hazards or Lessons Learned from Christchurch;
2. Identify which theme and topic you are applying to - Use the RFP "Funding Priorities" Tables 2.1 & 3.1 on pages 5,6 respectively.
3. Title of proposal and funding required;
4. Provide a research overview that briefly describes the proposed programme of research. Include how it is related to research currently being undertaken in the Natural Hazards Platform, research outcomes, and research user engagement.
- Research Overview - Brief description of the research programme (1 page max)
Address the assessment criteria:
- Outcome benefits to New Zealand - Assuming this project is successful, what is the potential contribution it will make to the achievement of target outcomes? (1 page max)
- Implementation Pathway - What is the likelihood your team will successfully have the research implemented by research users, and what is the plan to achieve this? (1 page max)
- RS&T benefits to New Zealand - Will the research be of high science quality and utilise capabilities of importance for New Zealand? (1 page max)
- Ability to deliver research, science and technology results (outputs) - What is the likelihood your team will achieve their proposed research outputs? Demonstrate this with reference to track record. (1 page max)
5. Maori Research and Innovation (if applicable);
6. Impact statements (Objectives), Research aims (objective tasks), and expected achievement measures (deliverable output);
7. Prepared budget requirements for the proposed research, including FTEs and subcontracting;
8. Identification of primary end users;
9. Researcher CVs.
